I have a draft “owner’s manual”—based on extensive travels in my Cascade Campers camper van in the lower 48. It is written in the spirit of The Whole Earth Catalog and Colin Fletcher’s The Complete Walker, but also in the spirit of two great American travelogues, John Steinbeck’s Travels with Charlie and William Least Heat Moon’s equally epic, Blue Highways.
I have cannibalized lots of the manual on my website so that you can find a lot of my travel writing here, mostly having to do with misadventures and close calls. See for example, the vignettes piled up in Ode to the Adventure Prone. I believe you will find them very entertaining.
